Greek Talk and the Model Ecclesiastical School of Lamia: An Innovative Educational Collaboration Centered on Students from Africa

A meaningful collaboration aimed at supporting the linguistic and cultural integration of students from Africa is underway, involving the digital platform Greek Talk, the Model Ecclesiastical School of Lamia, and 20 students from the Orthodox Metropolises of Zambia and Mozambique. The main goal of this initiative is to promote the educational and social inclusion of students from Africa who are either already studying or planning to study in Greece. Through the provision of specialized digital educational material, students will be given the opportunity to become familiar with the Greek language and culture, thus facilitating their integration into both the Greek educational system and the broader social life of the country. ย The Greek Talk platform, with its extensive experience and expertise in teaching Greek as a second language, offers:
  • 8 digital courses covering 101 lessons with a total duration of 17 hours.
  • 8 e-books, including 6 language guides and 2 cultural books.
  • Educational content tailored to studentsโ€™ needs, with English subtitles for better accessibility and comprehension.
The impact this initiative has is twofold: on the one hand, it promotes intercultural education, and on the other, it contributes to the smooth integration of students into the Greek educational and social environment. It stands as a shining example of how technology, faith, and education can come together to build bridges of mutual understanding, respect, and support. The collaboration is carried out with the blessing of the Holy Metropolis of Phthiotis, highlighting the Churchโ€™s role in support of humanitarian and educational efforts that reinforce global solidarity. This action sets a strong example of international educational cooperation. Through this initiative, students from Africa will obtain the tools they need for a successful academic journey in Greece, while also strengthening the global presence and mission of Greek educational and religious institutions.
