Greek Talk: Supporting the Linguistic Integration of Students from Africa at the Ecclesiastical School of Lamia

With the completion of the 2024-2025 school year, Greek Talk feels proud to have actively contributed to the educational support of students from Zambia and Mozambique, who attend the Model Ecclesiastical School of Lamia “Osios Vissarion Agathonitis” This initiative aimed to strengthen their language skills and facilitate their smooth integration into the Greek school environment through a comprehensive and modern educational approach that combines technology with personal interaction. Greek Talk, as a specialized digital platform for learning the Greek language, provided free access to rich educational material including interactive videos, e- books, and multimedia lessons, specifically designed to meet the needs of these students. At the same time, the organized face-to-face lessons enhanced practical practice and oral communication, facilitating the students’ familiarity with the structure and nuances of the Greek language, while also encouraging the creation of bonds within the educational community. This action, which complemented the official program of the Ministry of Education, serves as a living example of how technology and innovation can effectively support education and social inclusion by offering equal opportunities for access to knowledge. Our goal at Greek Talk is to build bridges of communication and understanding, helping students feel comfortable and confident in their new educational and social environment, while promoting the value of multiculturalism. With the hope that similar initiatives will continue, Greek Talk is committed to providing the best digital solutions for teaching the Greek language to every student, wherever they may be, thus contributing to the enhancement of education and social cohesion.
